Soft Tissue Release
Soft tissue therapy is used as an adjunct to chiropractic care to help promote healing, reduce pain, and improve mobility of structures such as muscles, ligaments, tendons, joint capsules/bursas and fascia. Soft tissue techniques used by our chiropractors vary depending on the condition treated. Some techniques may include myofascial release, trigger point therapy, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilisation and passive stretches.
Dry Needling
Dry needling is a technique that can be utilised in treatments to address muscular-related pain, tension and dysfunctions. It is important to note that Dry Needling is a separate technique to acupuncture in application and methodology. Chiropractors utilise dry needling to target taut or tight trigger points within muscle to elicit a response from your body's natural healing mechanisms and reduce the sensitivity around that muscle, allowing for pain-relief and functional restoration. Our main goals of dry needling include, reliving pain, reducing muscular tension and improving blood flow to promote improved and optimal muscle function and range of motion.
Aims to address muscular tightness, aid the body's natural healing process and improve circulation. Functional cupping is different to traditional Chinese cupping as it is focused on specific areas related to musculoskeletal conditions. Functional cupping can be done with silcone or plastic cups being placed on the treated area with light suction and either being left as a static placement or the patient may be guided through a series of "functional movements" to further release muscular tension, restore range of motion, improve circulation and reduce fascial tension.
Functional Cupping
Sports & Kinesio Taping
Taping is an additional technique utilised by chiropractors to provide support and stability to muscles, ligaments, joints and other soft tissues, allowing for pain reduction, improved performance and enhanced functionality. We utilise both rigid tape and kinesio-taping methods to suit each individual need.
Chiropractic Adjustments & Mobilisations
A technique utilised by chiropractors to help reduce pain, restore joint range of motion, promote optimal joint functionality and reduce inflammation on surrounding tissues like nerves and muscles. This technique often produces the gentle "pop" or "click" sound which is the release of gas bubbles within the joint fluid. Similar to adjustments, mobilisations are small controlled movements, stretches and sustained pressure on the affected area. Also aiming to also help improve joint function, reduce stiffness and promote mobility.
Drop Piece Technique
Another chiropractic adjusting technique that allows for a more gentle approach to traditional adjustments and allows for patient comfort to cater to all needs. This technique utilises specialized tables that can be raised or "dropped" with different tension points to create a gentle and effective chiropractic adjustment tailored to your individual needs.
Exercise rehabilitation
Aims to help promote healing, build and restore strength, restore pain-free function, increase mobility and prevent or reduce re-injury. Our tailored plans focus on restoring movement patterns to reduce muscular imbalances, improve functional movement and return to activities of daily living with minimal limitations. We take a progressive approach to monitor progress and adjust exercises accordingly to the individual for continued improvement. We take an intergrated approach to health care utilising exercise rehabilitation alongside chiropractic treatment to optimize recovery and support overall health
